Peer Review #2

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

This week, I peer reviewed two blogs written by my course mates, but before I did so, I read an informative article called ‘‘The Power of Giving Feedback and Receiving Feedback in Peer Assessment’’, written by Lan Li and Valentina Grion.
This article stated that 41 students had taken an online survey to record results and outcomes of their participation in a peer assessment activity where they gave and received feedback.
According to the results, although students gained knowledge through both, the giving and the receiving processes, they learned more from giving feedback, and their preference for giving feedback was higher than receiving it, too.

Personally, I found this weeks peer reviewing experience a lot more enjoyable than the first one. I felt a little more comfortable in terms of giving feedback, and I reminded myself that my feedback is something that the writer could greatly benefit from, bumping their blog posts up to a higher standard in the future.

Additionally, I got the opportunity to reflect on the comments that were left on my own blog posts! I think that it’s very helpful to receive feedback from my course mates, as I get various writing tips, general advice, and I also get corrected on small mistakes that I mightn’t notice while proofreading my work.

Overall, I’m excited to improve my writing skills with the help of the feedback that I was given!
