Looking back…
Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog!
This week, myself and my group mates finally submitted our video project! Over the course of the project, I learned a lot, from actual project research to time management and submissions, which I will certainly reflect on and apply my knowledge to future group projects, as well as individual projects.
Throughout the course of this project, myself and my group mates have done a lot of individual research, but I found myself procrastinating from time to time, especially when it came to writing the script, since I wanted our video to be very informative, yet enjoyable and fun to watch. Next time, I think I should believe in myself a little bit more and avoid holding myself back, since it only puts more pressure on myself and/or my group mates in the long run.
Although we happened to be a little tight on time in the end, we got everything finished and I’m extremely happy with the outcome of our project. Our video may not be extremely professional, but I think that it really showcases the fact that we had loads of fun in the making, from writing, to recording, to editing. We all took part in editing sections of the video in order to improve our skill set and to familiarise ourselves with editing softwares. We also tried to include ‘memes’ that are relevant to our age group, therefore making the video a little more engaging and appealing to the viewers.
I feel like the video itself is a little different from what we had imagined when we started working on it, since we had various plans that we couldn’t include in the final cut. For example, we were hoping to interview a YouTube blogger who created and shared content about the topic of our project, but we hadn’t been able to reach out to her in the end. Either way, I think that we managed to make up for our losses and create an informative and enjoyable video.
I think that our video was a good source of education about our topic. We made sure to define our research, as well as state examples and include our very own opinions on the topic.
Overall, this was a very fun project to work on! I loved working with my group mates since we motivated each other along the way and helped each other with any difficulties.
